About Capital.com

Capital.com is an online trading provider whose appeal lies in combining accessible platforms with a broad choice of markets. Its web platform and mobile app bring charts, watchlists and trading controls together, while educational resources help explain the mechanics behind a trade. For someone who values an organised trading environment, this is a compelling starting point.

This review focuses on its CFD service. A contract for difference lets you speculate on price movements without owning the underlying asset. Other products may be available locally, but a share CFD should not be confused with buying shares outright. Capital.com is best assessed against your intended trading style, rather than treated as a universal investment account.

Regulation & Client Protection

Capital.com operates through different legal entities. These include Capital Com (UK) Limited, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under reference 793714, and Cyprus entities Capital Com SV Investments Limited and Capital Com Group Ltd, regulated by CySEC under licences 319/17 and 463/25 respectively. Your country and account agreement determine which entity serves you.

Client-money segregation and retail negative balance protection are important safeguards where applicable. They do not prevent trading losses, and compensation arrangements are subject to local eligibility rules. Check the entity named during registration: protections and product availability should never be assumed to be identical across countries.

Assets & Markets

The core CFD selection covers forex, shares, indices and commodities. This allows traders to follow currencies, individual companies and broader economic themes from one account. Cryptocurrency CFDs and other markets are subject to local restrictions; cryptocurrency derivatives are not available to UK retail clients.

The range is useful for traders who want flexibility, but access to several markets does not automatically diversify risk. Positions can move together, particularly during major economic announcements. Before trading, check the instrument's hours, spread, margin requirement and financing terms, rather than choosing a market solely because it is available.

Trading Platforms

Capital.com's browser platform offers technical indicators, chart-based order controls, custom watchlists and price alerts. Its mobile app provides another way to follow markets and manage positions. We see the combination of market information and practical trading controls as one of its strongest features: it gives traders a focused environment without requiring them to assemble their own collection of tools.

TradingView, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are also listed among its platform options, subject to regional and account availability. These provide alternatives for traders with established charting or trading workflows. Features differ between platforms, so confirm that your preferred order types and risk controls are supported before committing to one.

Ordinary stop-loss orders can execute at a worse price during a market gap. Guaranteed stops, where available, address that execution risk but incur a fee if triggered. Neither a polished interface nor an extensive charting toolkit removes the need for sensible position sizing.

Account Types & Getting Started

A demo account is a useful way to explore charts and practise placing orders with virtual funds, where available. It is a learning environment rather than evidence that a strategy will succeed with real money: live execution, liquidity and the emotional pressure of losses can differ.

Live account opening involves eligibility checks and identity verification. Retail and professional arrangements have different conditions; professional status is not simply an upgrade and may mean giving up protections. Beginners should take time to understand margin, leverage and closing positions before considering a funded account.

Funding Options

Available payment methods, currencies and minimum deposits depend on your location and funding route. Capital.com's published EU CFD schedule currently lists a minimum of 20 USD/EUR/GBP or 100 PLN for most methods, with a 50 EUR equivalent minimum for wire transfers. These are entry thresholds, not recommendations for an appropriate trading balance.

The same schedule lists no provider deposit or withdrawal fee, although banks and payment services may charge separately. Check withdrawal requirements, verification status and processing times in your account before transferring money. Choosing a suitable account currency can also help reduce unnecessary conversions.

Costs & Fees

Capital.com's published EU CFD pricing lists no trading commission, but trading still has costs. The spread is built into the difference between buying and selling prices and can change with market conditions. Overnight funding may apply when positions remain open beyond the daily cut-off, making the expected holding period important.

The EU schedule also lists a 0.7% currency-conversion markup for retail clients when a conversion is required. Guaranteed-stop premiums are another possible expense. Check the live deal ticket and the pricing terms for your own entity: a low headline spread alone does not establish that a broker is the cheapest for your strategy.

Research & Education

The learning hub covers trading essentials, risk management, technical analysis, strategies and trading psychology. A glossary and market guides give newer traders useful context, while market commentary can help explain what is moving prices. Together with a demo account, these resources make the service worth considering for people who want to learn the platform methodically.

Educational material should support your judgement, not replace it. Market analysis is general information rather than a personal recommendation, and even a well-explained trading idea can result in a loss.

Customer Support

Capital.com provides a help centre and support through its platform and email. Its UK information advertises 24/7 support in English; other languages and contact routes may have different availability. Being able to access assistance alongside the trading tools is convenient, although complex account or payment enquiries may still require documentation and follow-up.

Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantages

  • An integrated web and mobile experience for traders who value straightforward navigation.
  • A broad core CFD selection, with alternative platforms for different trading workflows.
  • Educational resources and demo access, where available, for learning before committing funds.

Disadvantages

  • CFDs involve substantial risk and are a different proposition from owning investments.
  • Financing, spreads and currency conversion can make frequent trading or longer holding periods expensive.
  • Products, protections and platform features vary by jurisdiction, requiring careful account selection.

Overall Verdict

Compared with brokers offering a more basic platform or less integrated learning support, Capital.com's appeal is the way its charts, trading controls and educational resources fit together. Its strengths are particularly relevant to self-directed CFD traders who want an approachable interface and room to develop a more structured workflow.

It will not suit every investor, and price-sensitive traders should compare the total cost of their usual trades. Nevertheless, for eligible users who understand CFD risk and prioritise platform usability, market choice and learning support, we recommend putting Capital.com on the shortlist. These are the specific strengths behind our five-star editorial rating.
